ITINERARY

Day 1 – Arrive in Tokyo – Transfer to your hotel and enjoy a day at leisure. Overnight in Tokyo.

Day 2 – Tokyo – Fish markets, traditional shops and top-quality sushi restaurants. Walk to Hamarikyu (a Japanese garden). Enjoy a break at a teahouse for a tea ceremony. Scenic River Cruise to Asakusa. Visit Ueno Ameyoko-cho bustling shopping alley. Overnight in Tokyo. Breakfast and Lunch included.

Day 3 – Tokyo – Heading towards the cooking Studio in Tokyo’s Tsukiji area you will begin the mornings soba-making workshop where you will cook the soba and dine with the teacher. Afternoon at leisure. Optional Evening Tour: Tokyo Street Food Tour. Overnight in Tokyo. Breakfast and Lunch included.

Day 4 – Tokyo to Takayama – Self guided journey to Takayama town where you will visit sake breweries and queue for the famous Hida beef sushi. Overnight in Takayama. Breakfast and Dinner included.

Day 5 – Takayama – Optional Tour 1: Food and Culture Walk. Optional Tour 2: Afternoon Trip to Shirakawago where you will take a bus to UNESCO World Heritage Site famour for their farmhouses. Overnight in Takayama. Breakfast and Dinner included.

Day 6 – Takayama to Kyoto – Self guided day through Japan’s cultural capital. Day at leisure. Overnight in Kyoto. Breakfast included.

Day 7 – Kyoto – Explore the city with a knowledgeable local guide through Kyoto’s comprehensive bus system. Visit Nijo Castle, the serene Ryoanji Temple, the golden pavilion Kinkaku-ji Temple, Kiyomizu-dera a Buddhist temple and the busy streets of Higashiyama District. Overnight Kyoto.

Day 8 – Kyoto – Enjoy a morning at leisure until your food market tour and cooking class at Nishiki Market. You will learn how to make sushi, miso soup and salad with seasonal fruit for dessert. Overnight in Kyoto. Breakfast and Dinner included.

Day 9 – Kyoto to Koyasan – Spend the afternoon exploring popular sites visiting Kongobuji Temple, Okuno-in Cemetery. Overnight Koyasan. Breakfast and Dinner included.

Day 10 – Koyasan to Osaka – Self guided day joining in the morning prayer at 6:00am being immersed in the calming chants of the monks. Enjoy a shojin ryori breakfast and spend the rest of the day exploring the amazing food and Osakas flamboyant fun loving people. Overnight in Osaka. Breakfast included.

Day 11 – Osaka – Guided afternoon tour through the cities liveliest and most colourful shopping and dining streets, small eateries and village temple. You will enjoy roaming through a restaurant mecca. Overnight in Osaka. Breakfast included.
